Cooking Poll

If you like to cook, what are your top 10 (or top 5) cooking ingredients? Mine are as follows:

1. Balsamic vinegar
2. Limes/Lemons

3. Onions/Shallots
4. Kosher salt
5. Garlic
6. Parmesan Cheese
7. Cilantro

8. Butter
9. Chocolate
10. Coffee

They all rank pretty equally for me.

1. Garlic cloves (okay, maybe this is #1...we LOVE garlic)
2. Kosher salt/pepper/garlic salt (can these be one ingredient? :)
3. Tomatoes (usually petite diced)/tomato juice/tomato sauce
4. Chicken
5. Beef
6. Basil
7. Vinegar (usually balsamic)
8. Onions
9. Cheese (usually parmesan)
10. Olive oil

1) Olive oil
2) Fresh or roasted garlic
3) Onions
4) Diced tomatoes
5) Beans, especially black beans
6) Kosher salt/fresh pepper
7) Red, Yellow & Green bell peppers (yea Aldi for making these affordable!)
8) Parsley
9) Cilantro
10) Parmesan

Help me with the balsalmic vinegar thing, people. I don't get it.
I do like red-wine vinegar a lot, but I haven't used it too much lately--more often on summer salads.
